          We will meet in the Franciscan Room.  The tour will run from 6:00 PM to approximately 7:00 PM.  Liz Clark will give a presentation at 7:30 PM.  We will then return to the Franciscan Room for dinner.

Tour Abstract:

The hospital tour will include the hospital layout, CCU, med surg, ancillary areas and a tour of our laboratory.  We will meet in the Franciscan Room.  Take the elevator from the lobby, go slightly to the right, then straight.  The Franciscan Room is on your left.  We will break up into smaller groups for the tour.  The groups will return to the Franciscan Room for a 45 minute discussion of how hospitals measure, rate and achieve quality standards, and an introduction into Medicare's quality program, Pay for Performance.  There is no limit on the number of people the tour can handle.  The staff of St. Joseph’s enjoy showing off the hospital. Please feel free to bring a spouse or guests.

 

Speaker Biography:

          Liz Clark is the Director of Process and Outcomes Management at St. Joseph Medical Center. She is responsible for hospital quality programs and measures, survey readiness, infection control and Case Management, Social Work and Utilization Management. Prior to coming to St. Joseph's , she was the Director of Process Redesign for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  She has led two major corporate restructuring initiatives, several organizational transformation projects and established two corporate leadership academies.  Her early career work was in nuclear plant quality engineering, project management and strategic planning. Liz has a BS in mechanical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
